Hi, I’m Dr. Michael Steiner
I’m a Physical Therapist, husband, and father, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people recover from concussions, headaches, and dizziness. Through my work building concussion programs at two separate healthcare systems including one of the largest sports medicine providers in the United States. I’ve seen the challenges people face firsthand when trying to access high-quality recovery care.
Why I Started the Brain Recovery Project
As I grew both my concussion rehab practice and my professional education business, Concussion Spot Education, one thing became very clear: there aren’t enough specialists to help people with concussions, headaches, or dizziness, and access to care is often limited by location or cost.
This inspired me to start the Brain Recovery Project—to bridge the gaps in brain recovery care and provide accessible, high-quality resources that help people worldwide reclaim their health and return to the life they want to live.
My Approach
The Brain Recovery Project combines evidence-based rehabilitation strategies with practical guidance designed to empower you on your recovery journey. Whether it’s understanding your symptoms, learning recovery strategies and exercises, or navigating care options, my goal is to make high-quality brain recovery guidance available to everyone, no matter where you live or what resources you have.
Mission
To empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and guidance they need to recover from brain injuries and related conditions—regardless of geography or financial barriers.
Vision:
A world where anyone experiencing concussion, headache, or dizziness has access to the specialized care and support necessary to reclaim their life.
About My Background:
I graduated from Minnesota State University – Mankato in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from The College of St. Scholastica in 2011. Since then, I’ve helped build concussion programs in Northfield Hospital and the Twin Cities metro area, culminating in a dedicated sport concussion clinic at Twin Cities Orthopedics.
I hold certifications in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance, have completed additional training with the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), am an ImPACT trained Physical Therapist, and served on the MN Department of Human Services TBI Advisory Committee. My work blends clinical expertise, hands-on patient care, and ongoing research to push the boundaries of brain injury recovery.
Recovery from a brain injury can feel overwhelming and isolating—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. The Brain Recovery Project is here to guide you, support you, and provide the tools you need to reclaim your life.
